Here’s the naming convention:
- Templates A, B, and C: For production-like or repetitive work, often used in Agile

If Drum-Buffer-Rope (DBR) is the godfather of production control, then Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) is the godfather of modern, agile project delivery—especially when deadlines matter, complexity is high, and risk is real. Yes, CCPM is about structure and predictability—but it’s also incredibly agile. And most importantly: every serious project has a due date. Without one, no one is really accountable for results - no one really cares about it, so it has no value!

CCPM starts where most project methods stop: with realism. Projects are built from work packages in logical sequences (start-to-finish), as in the Critical Path Method—but with a crucial difference: CCPM considers resource availability and human behavior, not just task logic.

There are different ways to calculate and extract the buffer. A common starting point is a 33% buffer for the total project, adjustable by context. Unlike classic timelines, these buffers are strategic—they absorb uncertainty without breaking the flow.

3️⃣ Set the Buffer: Work with the Product Owner to agree on a reasonable buffer—a time (backlog) reserve to absorb uncertainty, backlog changes, or unexpected blockers.
4️⃣ Track Execution: During execution, calculate the Estimated Time to Completion (ETC) regularly (daily or weekly): ETC = current backlog / estimated team velocity
5️⃣ Monitor Progress with a Fever Chart: Compare the ETC to the remaining time and buffer. Plot this on a CCPM-style fever chart, showing whether you’re consuming buffer faster than you’re making progress.
6️⃣ Take Action If Needed: If the project enters the red zone, the team must respond immediately—reprioritize, swarm on blockers, or reduce scope—to get back to yellow or green.

But that's not the whole story - large organizations do not have just one straightforward type of work. They always have some mixture. Furthermore, an organization is more than a team, so you have different (at least 3) management layers.
